Lo-fi versions of popular printmaking techniques using humble scrap packaging materials can achieve beautiful results on paper. Foil-lined Tetrapaks offer a good surface for drypoint drawings, and cereal packets can be cut into low relief printing plates for bolder shapes. Embossing is achieved quickly with a
textured collage of reclaimed packaging. Xtina Lamb will show you how to print these elements together or separately to experiment with a wide range of mark making.

All required materials, inks and papers will be supplied, and hot drinks will be available during the class.

Course tutor
Xtina Lamb is a founding director of Intra Arts and Medway Fine Printmakers CIC. Her printmaking work includes stencil techniques such as screen printing (especially with repeat designs on fabric) and Risograph printing, along with processes using an etching press such as drypoint, photopolymer and hand-cut blocks made of thin cardboard. Themes of her work include nature, pop culture, heritage, superstitions and folklore.

Cancellations

Please give us as much notice as possible if you are not able to come to a course that you have booked. If you cancel with seven or more days notice, we will reschedule or refund your booking. For cancellations less than seven days before the workshop date – we may be able to offer you a re-booking subject to availability on future classes. Please note that we have to cover space costs, preparation and tutor fees, and if you cancel last minute we still have to pay for these in order for the course to run for the other participants.
