Scheduled 2018 dates:
Sat 16th June
2pm – 5pm
Suitable for adults, and 14+ years
Class size 6 max.
Learn some bookbinding basics in this fun introductory class. We’ll start with a close look at examples of artists’ books and then it’s on to folding and tearing paper along its grain, and creating hand- sewn pamphlets. Decorate the pamphlet covers with quick relief prints of your own design, or with pre-made stamps. These make excellent notebooks, and are lovely as gifts.
Next up we’ll make a simple concertina book with a hard cover. Choose paper for the pages and either book cloth, fabric or decorated papers to finish the covers. You’ll be measuring, cutting and gluing them together to form a smart little book, useful for many things, including sketching in, turning into an artwork, or as a book for notes or poetry.
All materials are included.
