In this workshop you’ll spend a day learning how to plan out a repeating pattern, creating a stencil from your choice of inspiration, and screen printing 3 metres of your own unique design on cotton fabric – for dresses, cushions, accessories etc.

The photostencil screen will be pre-prepared with emulsion for you, so you’ll have more time to design your pattern, transfer it to the screen, and print it onto fabric.

What’s included / what should I bring?
All required equipment, materials, inks and fabrics will be supplied, and hot drinks will be available during the class. If you have any other fabrics you’d like to print onto, or images to work from, please bring those along.

Course tutor
Xtina Lamb is a founding director of Intra Arts and Medway Fine Printmakers CIC. Her printmaking work includes stencil techniques such as screen printing (especially with repeat designs on fabric) and Risograph printing, along with processes using an etching press such as drypoint, photopolymer and hand-cut blocks made of thin cardboard. Themes of her work include nature, pop culture, heritage, superstitions and folklore.

Cancellations

Please give us as much notice as possible if you are not able to come to a course that you have booked. If you cancel with seven or more days notice, we will reschedule or refund your booking. For cancellations less than seven days before the workshop date – we may be able to offer you a re-booking subject to availability on future classes. Please note that we have to cover space costs, preparation and tutor fees, and if you cancel last minute we still have to pay for these in order for the course to run for the other participants.
